Polymaker HT-PLA Pro is a tough PLA filament for functional prototypes, housings, brackets, jigs and fixtures. It combines the familiar PLA printing workflow with improved impact strength and layer bonding compared with Polymaker HT-PLA. Choose Black or Grey, 1.75 mm, 1 kg.

Key benefits

Around twice the notched impact strength of HT-PLA: 9.94 versus 4.94 kJ/m² in X–Y.

Stronger layer bonding, with Z-axis tensile strength of 26.8 MPa.

3D printing speeds up to 300 mm/s with suitable hardware and settings.

A standard brass nozzle is sufficient; no enclosure is required.

Finished parts can be annealed to improve heat resistance under load.

HT-PLA Pro vs HT-PLA

Pro offers higher impact strength and improved strength between layers. This is useful for parts that are assembled, handled frequently or exposed to impacts. Compare it with Polymaker HT-PLA for your application.

Heat resistance: Vicat and HDT

A Vicat softening temperature of 148.3°C does not mean a loaded part can operate continuously at that temperature. For parts exposed to both heat and mechanical load, use HDT — the heat deflection temperature at a specified load — as the more relevant reference.

Anneal at 100°C. Allow 30–60 minutes for walls under 4 mm, 1–2 hours at 6 mm, 2–4 hours at 8 mm and 3–6 hours at 10 mm. Use uniform heating, let the part cool inside the chamber and check its dimensions. Expected dimensional change is around 0.3–0.6%, so test a sample first for assemblies with tight tolerances.

Start with a proven PLA profile and a short temperature, flow and layer-bonding test. Match the speed to your hotend flow and required finish. At 230°C the surface is semi-gloss. Around 210°C it becomes more matte, but strength may decrease.

Suitable applications

HT-PLA Pro is a practical choice for functional prototypes, brackets, clips, housings and workshop fixtures. For parts near a heat source, check the actual load and temperature against HDT. UV resistance is similar to ordinary PLA; ASA may be a better choice for prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.

Frequently asked questions

How does HT-PLA Pro differ from HT-PLA?

HT-PLA Pro has a notched Charpy impact strength of 9.94 kJ/m² in X–Y, compared with 4.94 kJ/m² for HT-PLA. Z-axis tensile strength is 26.8 versus 20.8 MPa. These are typical laboratory values; part orientation and print settings also affect performance.

Can HT-PLA Pro withstand 150°C under load?

The 148.3°C Vicat softening temperature is not a continuous service temperature under load. HDT at 0.45 MPa is 56.3°C as printed and 107.6°C after annealing. Select the material for the actual temperature, load and part geometry.

Which print settings should I use?

Start with a 230°C nozzle, a 25–65°C bed and the cooling fan on. The stated speed is up to 300 mm/s, subject to hotend flow and part geometry. Suggested direct-drive retraction is 1–3 mm at 20–40 mm/s.

Do I need a hardened nozzle or an enclosure?

No. Use a standard FDM/FFF 3D printer for 1.75 mm filament with a standard brass nozzle. An enclosure or heated chamber is not required.

How do I anneal HT-PLA Pro parts?

Anneal at 100°C. The detailed guidance specifies 30–60 minutes for walls under 4 mm; thicker parts need longer. Let the part cool inside the heating chamber and check its dimensions: a change of around 0.3–0.6% is possible.

How should I dry and store the filament?

If moisture has been absorbed, dry at 60°C for 6 hours. Store the spool in a sealed dry box with desiccant and check flow after drying or changing the print profile.

Is it suitable for permanent outdoor use?

UV resistance is similar to standard PLA. For prolonged direct sunlight, consider ASA according to the requirements of the application.

Which colours and spool size are offered?

This product is offered in Black and Grey, with a 1.75 mm diameter and 1 kg net filament weight. The finish is semi-gloss at 230°C. Printing at around 210°C gives a more matte finish but can reduce strength.

Key features

1.75 ±0.02 mm diameter for controlled feeding in compatible FDM/FFF systems.

1,000 g net filament on a cardboard spool.

Recommended nozzle temperature: 220–240°C; build plate: 55–65°C.

Recommended cooling: 90–100%. An enclosure and hardened nozzle are not required according to the technical data sheet.

Vacuum packaging with desiccant protects the filament before opening.

What is LUME PLA+, and who is it for?

LUME PLA+ is a polylactic-acid-based filament for FDM/FFF 3D printing. It is intended for prototypes, visual models, housings, decorative objects, educational projects and short production runs. Its 1.75 mm diameter suits printers with a matching feed system, while the specified temperature ranges provide a starting point for creating a printing profile.

The ±0.02 mm diameter tolerance limits variations that can affect how much filament passes through the nozzle. It supports consistent everyday feeding, but is not a guarantee of finished-part accuracy. Results also depend on printer mechanics, extrusion calibration, temperature, cooling, model geometry and slicer settings.

The manufacturer lists prototypes, visual components, housings, functional models and short runs as key uses. Applications involving sustained high temperatures, weather exposure, aggressive chemicals or regulatory requirements need prior validation.

Material and printing workflow

The safety data sheet describes a polylactic-acid-based polymer with colourants. The technical data sheet identifies renewable raw materials and degradation under specific conditions. This does not establish suitability for home composting; a specific compostability standard or certification is not stated.

Start within 220–240°C at the nozzle and 55–65°C at the build plate. Calibrate for your printer: differences in sensors, hotend construction, nozzle, feeding and cooling can shift the optimum within that range. The manufacturer recommends 90–100% fan speed. For the first layers, also follow your build surface manufacturer’s guidance.

Check that the printer uses 1.75 mm filament and that its holder or automatic feeding system accepts a spool 196 mm in diameter, with a 52 mm centre hole and 68 mm width.

Check the spool condition, free unwinding and routing through the guides.

Clean the build surface and start from a PLA profile within LUME PLA+’s specified temperatures.

Run a short temperature test and inspect the first layer, bridges, overhangs, stringing and layer adhesion.

Calibrate flow and, if needed, retraction. Save a separate profile for the printer and colour.

No verified maximum printing speed is specified for the series. Choose speed according to hotend capacity, volumetric flow, geometry and the required quality. Record temperature, flow, retraction, cooling and first-layer settings to make the process repeatable.

Compatibility and spool design

LUME PLA+ requires an FDM/FFF printer with a 1.75 mm feed system, a nozzle capable of 220–240°C and a heated build plate operating at 55–65°C. The technical data sheet does not require an enclosure or hardened nozzle, so open desktop systems can be used when their own operating requirements are met.

The cardboard spool measures 196 mm outside diameter, 52 mm centre hole and 68 mm width. The manufacturer’s catalogue specifies dimensional compatibility with Bambu Lab AMS and AMS Lite, Creality CFS, Anycubic ACE and Prusa systems. Actual feeding also depends on the cardboard edges, support mechanism and clearances. Follow the feeding-system manufacturer’s guidance and measure before selecting an adapter ring.

The filament has no proprietary file format or separate CAD requirement. STL, 3MF and OBJ files are processed by your slicer and printer. If a verified material profile is unavailable, use a generic PLA profile and calibrate it within the technical data sheet’s ranges.

Check the physical dimensions of any holder, feeder or dry box. A suitable filament dryer must maintain 55°C without deforming the cardboard spool.

Application examples

Iterative prototypes: evaluate shape, assembly and proportions before selecting a more specialised material. A saved profile reduces repeated setup.

Visual and presentation models: different colours can distinguish functions or components without painting every prototype.

Housings and organisers: boxes, dividers, mounts and components for conditions that have been validated for the material.

Architectural and educational models: standard and neutral colours help separate model areas; an enclosure is not mandatory, but suitable ventilation is still needed.

Lighting and decorative objects: the product images show ribbed lampshades in several colours. With Transparent filament, light transmission depends on wall thickness, extrusion direction, infill and the light source; optical clarity is not guaranteed.

Short production runs: controlled diameter and defined starting temperatures support a repeatable profile. Record batch, colour, calibration and the initial test result.

Storage, limitations and safe use

After opening, keep the filament in a dry, sealed environment. When needed, the manufacturer recommends drying for at least 4 hours at 55°C in a dedicated filament dryer. Inconsistent feeding, popping at the nozzle, bubbles, rough surfaces or increased stringing may indicate moisture, but can have other causes. Check temperature and retraction after drying.

For difficult build surfaces, first clean according to the surface manufacturer’s instructions and check bed levelling. Work within 55–65°C and adjust first-layer contact without excessively reducing nozzle clearance. There is no single adhesive suitable for every build surface.

Keep the cardboard spool dry and its edges undamaged. In roller-based feeders, check for smooth movement and shedding particles. Rewinding without controlled tension can loosen the winding and cause crossed filament.

The safety data sheet does not classify LUME PLA+ as a hazardous mixture under CLP. Nevertheless, ventilate the work area and avoid contact with the heated nozzle or molten polymer. If molten material contacts skin, follow the SDS instructions and seek medical attention. Do not dispose of waste filament into drains or surface water.

Polymaker Panchroma PLA Basic – high-speed PLA filament for 3D printers

What is Polymaker Panchroma PLA Basic?

Polymaker Panchroma PLA Basic is a high-speed PLA filament for everyday 3D printing, developed to combine fast production and professional surface quality. The formula is optimized for FDM/FFF 3D printers and is suitable for both beginners and advanced users who want a reliable material for prototypes, models, decorative elements, and small series of products.

The filament is supplied as a standard spool with a diameter of 1.75 mm and a net weight of 1 kg, making it compatible with the vast majority of desktop and professional 3D printers on the market. The specially developed high-speed formula allows print speeds of up to 350 mm/s and a volumetric flow of up to 28 mm³/s without sacrificing detail and smoothness.

Technology and material quality

Panchroma PLA Basic uses a new generation of PLA with improved rheology and mechanical properties. Compared to standard PLA formulations, the material offers significantly higher plasticity – approximately 19% elongation at break versus approximately 6% for typical PLA, as well as nearly double the Charpy impact strength. This means that parts are less brittle and tend to bend before breaking, which is ideal for functional prototypes and parts that are handled frequently.

According to Panchroma’s official TDS, the density of PLA Basic (Regular) is approximately 1.30 g/cm³ at 23 °C, and the Vicat softening temperature is approximately 66 °C. This is typical for high-quality PLA – the material retains its shape under normal room conditions, but is not suitable for prolonged use in highly heated environments (e.g., in a car interior during summer).

The composition is optimized for stable extrusion and good shrinkage, resulting in uniform layers, clean edges, and minimal defects such as gaps or voids when settings are correct. In combination with adequate cooling, Panchroma PLA Basic performs excellently with bridges and overhangs typical of decorative models and functional geometries.

Productivity and workflow

The main advantage of Panchroma PLA Basic is its high working speed. The manufacturer states that the material supports printing speeds of up to 350 mm/s and a volumetric flow of up to 28 mm³/s on suitable high-speed printers. In practice, this allows for a significant reduction in printing time for large objects and series without losing detail.

The recommended parameters for extrusion are:

Nozzle temperature: 190–230 °C (typical start 200–215 °C depending on printer and geometry)

Heating plate temperature: 25–60 °C (often 40–50 °C for a good balance between adhesion and easy removal)

Nozzle diameter: 0.4 mm as standard; smaller/larger nozzles are also available depending on the application

Print speeds: 60–120 mm/s for “reliable” mode, up to 350 mm/s for high-speed profiles

The material behaves predictably with ready-made PLA profiles in popular slicers such as Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer, Cura, and OrcaSlicer. In many cases, it is sufficient to use a standard PLA profile and set the speed and temperature within the recommended limits, but for maximum quality and consistency, additional fine tuning (flow, retraction, PA/pressure advance) is desirable.

For demanding models with many overhangs and detailed supports, Polymaker recommends using separate support materials such as PolySupport or soluble PolyDissolve S1, which ensure clean separation of the supports from the PLA part.

Compatibility and ecosystem

Panchroma PLA Basic is a filament with a diameter of 1.75 mm and is compatible with a wide range of FDM/FFF printers – from desktop models to larger professional machines. The low operating temperature and PLA base mean that no closed chamber or special hardware modifications are required.

The filament is marked as compatible with multifilament systems and AMS solutions (e.g., for automatic thread changing) thanks to the stable geometry of the spool and the uniform diameter. This makes it a suitable choice for complex projects with multiple materials or for automated production tasks.

In terms of software, Panchroma PLA Basic works with all standard 3D model formats – STL, 3MF, OBJ, etc. It is important that the model is correctly prepared in the slicer: correct wall thickness, layer height (e.g., 0.2 mm for a balance between speed and detail), and adequate layer cooling activated.

If you need detailed profiles, you can consult Polymaker’s official materials or use ready-made profiles for Panchroma/PolyLite PLA in your slicer, adapting them to your specific printer if necessary.

Reel design and ergonomics

Polymaker uses a well-thought-out spool design for Panchroma PLA Basic. The standard 1 kg spool has a rigid flange and a central sleeve that rotates smoothly on most filament reel holders. The holes in the body make it easy to secure the filament at the end of the print so that it does not unwind on its own during storage.

The label clearly states the type of material (PLA), diameter 1.75 mm, batch number, and recommended temperatures. This helps with traceability and repeatability in professional use—you can easily reproduce the parameters for a given customer or series.

The filament is delivered vacuum-packed with a silica gel packet, which keeps humidity low during transport and initial storage. For optimal performance, especially during longer prints and in more humid environments, it is recommended to store the spool in a box with desiccant or in a filament dryer.

Professional usage scenarios

Functional prototypes and housings – thanks to its greater toughness and relatively good impact resistance, Panchroma PLA Basic is ideal for electronics housings, clips, holders, small mechanical parts, and demo prototypes that need to withstand repeated assembly and disassembly.

Detailed miniatures and figurines – fine detail, clean surfaces, and minimal layer visibility enable printing of miniatures for board games, collectible figurines, or decorative statuettes, which can then be easily primed and painted.

Cosplay accessories and props – the lightness of the material, combined with improved impact resistance, makes it suitable for helmets, weapons, armor, and other cosplay items that need to look good and withstand transport and wear.

Educational and STEM projects – easy setup and good repeatability are ideal for schools, universities, and makerspaces where educational models, geometric shapes, mechanisms, and other demonstration objects are printed.

Prototypes for product designers – fast printing and high-quality exterior surfaces enable rapid validation of shapes, ergonomics, and assemblies before moving on to more expensive technical materials.

Small series of decorative products – thanks to its speed and stable color/quality consistency, Panchroma PLA Basic is suitable for the production of souvenirs, interior decorations, personalized gifts, and other small series.

Restrictions and best practices

Like any PLA, Panchroma PLA Basic has its limitations. Its softening temperature of around 60–66 °C means that the material is not suitable for applications in highly heated environments (e.g., in a car in the sun, near heaters, or outdoors in direct sunlight in high summer temperatures).

When printing on textured PEI beds, some users report strong adhesion. To avoid damaging the surface, it is good practice to:

reduce the temperature of the bed to around 35–45 °C;

use a separating layer (e.g., glue/tape) if adhesion is excessive;

wait for the bed to cool completely before removing the parts.

For the best results:

Store the filament in a dry place; if moisture is absorbed, it may be necessary to dry it at around 55 °C for 6 hours in a filament dryer.

use smooth but not excessive acceleration and jerk settings at very high speeds;

adjust the retraction to minimize threads and dots on the surfaces;

If maximum strength is required, increase the temperature to the upper end of the recommended range and reduce the speed.

The material is PLA-based and, according to its specifications, is compatible with standard PLA settings. It should not be confused with Panchroma CoPE, which is a different material and is not recommended for combined printing with PLA in the same part.

Description

Polymide PA12-CF is PA12 filament (nylon) reinforced with carbon
fibers.
Due to the low moisture sensitivity of PA12, this
product is characterized by excellent mechanical and thermal properties.

Fibre adhesion technology

Fiber adhesion technology significantly improves the strength of the Z-
axis by designing the surface chemistry of the fibers to
achieve a strong fiber-matrix bond. Unlike
conventional fiber-reinforced filaments, which have a significant
reduction in Z-axis strength, PolyMide PA12-CF offers superior
interlayer adhesion compared to unreinforced PA12.

Deformation-free technology

Warp-Free technology enables the production of Polymaker nylon
filaments that can be printed with excellent
dimensional stability and virtually no warpage. This is achieved by
fine-tuning the microstructure and crystallization behavior of the
nylon, allowing the material to fully relieve internal
stresses before it hardens.

Annex

The combination of ease of printing with distortion-free
technology makes this product ideal for manufacturing
tools.
