PLA is the most universal print material useful even for printing big objects. The biggest advantage is its unrecognisable tendency to twist caused by minimal expansion during melting. Even in lower temeratures the
print is firm and all layers are well connected together.
After printing, this material can be machined with conventional techniques, however, due to the low point of
the hot melt some techniques cannot be used eg. perfect machine-grinding is not possible. Sandpaper on a
machinery grinder will quickly heat the material to the softening point.
This disadvantage can of course be removed by cooling the material during process. Hand grinding is possible without practically any restriction, the material can be drilled or painted well (after treatment with a basic colour for hard plastic of course).
The material comes in many colour mutations of opaque and transparent variants. Various color options
allows you to print extremely impressive objects without any need for final painting.
PLA is a bio-degradable material (decomposition only in an aggressive environment), produced from corn or
sugar cane. Thanks to its extraordinary character it is increasingly used industrially.
